Occombe goes from strength to strength
Since Gribble’s took over the Occombe Farm Shop in May last year things have gone from strength to strength.
“Our first Christmas here went fantastically well,” says Manager Helen Gribble. “We had a lot of people through the doors in December, buying all the usual Christmas fare from hampers to turkeys, as well as plenty of our other local products, so the atmosphere was great.”
“We have a great range of local cheeses, local wines, Devon ciders, beers from the immediate area, fruit and veg from the South West, and other local produce.”
“The farm shop is a new experience for us, with our other shops being in town centres, and our customers require the best. Whilst we cannot stock absolutely everything, we have decided to have a strong selection of what the majority of customers want most of the time. Should we not have a particular item in stock, we can normally place a special order, but what we won’t do is hold stock which might go to waste.”
“We’ve got a lot of plans for developing the shop and what we offer our customers in 2012, from meat straight off the farm to hosting sausage-making workshops, so it’s an exciting time for everyone here.”
