Now Stocking Exe Valley Eggs
Shoppers can now purchase Exe Valley’s top quality free range eggs at Gribble’s Butchers. The eggs are available in all Gribble’s shops in Ivybridge, Occombe Farm and Paignton.

Owner Mark Gribble explained the thinking behind the decision to switch to Exe Valley Eggs. “I was first introduced to Exe Valley Eggs when I visited their stand at the Taste of the West show at Exeter earlier this year,” said Mark. “Not only was I impressed by the packaging and the sales support but also the enthusiasm of John and Mandy Widdowson who run Exe Valley Eggs.”
When Gribble’s took over the running of the Occombe Farm shop in May this year, Mark gave Exe Valley the chance to supply the eggs. Strong sales quickly developed with many customers, particularly children, enjoying the ‘pick-your-own’ option. Occombe Farm is a working farm run by Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust, primarily for educational purposes, and attracts thousands of visitors throughout the year.

Two months later Exe Valley Eggs were rolled out in Gribble’s Ivybridge and Plympton shops, with a further attraction for Mark Gribble being the certification of the eggs under the RSPCA’s Freedom Food scheme.
“We already stock meat from Freedom Food-approved farms so the eggs fit well with other products in our shops,” said Mark. “We are keen to convey to customers the farm animal welfare message and I believe the RSPCA’s Freedom Food label is recognised by consumers as an assurance scheme in which they can put their trust.”
